Courage is not the absence of fear. Courage is the ability to act in spite of it.
A phenomenon I've always been curious about is why certain people are able to act on their goals and ambitions, while others can't. What is it that holds certain people back from chasing their dreams? What differentiates those who say they want success, from those who actually do what's required to make it happen?
Most people talk a big game, but very few take action. Everyone says they want the high paying job, the new car, the gold Rolex, the six-pack, the luxurious holidays, or to live debt-free, but very few are actually prepared to work for it - day in and day out, month after month, and year after year.
So why does this happen? What's the differentiating factor between the doers and the pretenders?
From what I can see, it's because too many of us lack resilience. We lack grit. We lack determination. We aren't willing to do whatever it takes to achieve our dreams.
But the thing with resilience, is that no one can do it for you. No one can create resilience in you. It has to come from within. You have to find the motivation to commit to your dreams. You have to develop the burning desire work harder than anyone else, and push through roadblocks as you face them. Because you will face them.
There will be times where you'll want to give up.
There will be times where you'll fail.
And there will be times where it all seems too hard.
But resilient people don't give up in the face of adversity.
If you want to develop greater resilience to finally chase those dreams that you know you're capable of achieving, then there's a few things for you to be aware of.
Allow me to coach you towards building more grit:
